Tipful Thursday

This weeks tip is one you are REALLY going to want to remember.... when thinking up your life plans don't set a specific number to how many kids you want to have. Hubby and I have been saying for a while now that we only wanted to have 1 kid. One and Done we would say. Yesterday we went to our first ultrasound and we were soooo excited to see our little bean for the first time and then we got the shock of our lives....it's a boy, actually make that 2 boys! We are having twins!!!

We are so happy! Very nervous and a little scared... but mostly just happy!I don't think it really hit me until last night when I was falling asleep, you see I am a list maker. I like to make lists for everything! So since we found out we had a little bundle of joy on the way as I'm falling asleep I make lists in my head. All the things we need to buy, names that I liked, health care plans to look up, things I want to do to the nursery. So last night as I 'm falling asleep I start making a list... Pick out a new crib (the one I wanted it too big to have 2 in the same room), pick out another name, update our registry so it shows 2 of everything... omg 2 babies... I am having 2 BABIES!!!! I'm still sorta in shock! I couldn't be more happy though.

WILW, TIPFUL THURSDAY...

So I haven't updated for a while... here's the thing I have been super busy (more like super lazy) here is what we have been up to the last week or so. Thanksgiving was great! It is always so wonderful to have extra days off with my lovely husband. Ashlee and Tyler came down from Utah with their sweet baby boy Raiden (he is seriously too cute for words) Lots of games were played and tons of food was devoured. We also took some family pictures over the weekend ( I'll post them at the end) Now I just need to get them printed and finish our Christmas cards.

So I missed WILW, yesterday I was home sick. I have a terrible cold and basically slept my entire day away. It was wonderful. I'll make up for it now. This week I am loving:

that it is December! I love the cold weather, Christmas, hot chocolate, family time, and presents :)

that I have all our Christmas decorations up, except the tree, we are going with a REAL tree this year (so excited) so we are going to wait a few weeks. Don't want it to die before Christmas gets here!

that I finally watched Water for Elephants. I loved it!!! Def a movie everyone should watch

that I finished all 8 seasons of One Tree Hill... that is 174 episodes, I have a lot of free time at work :) Really love the show and can't wait for the new season to start next month!

and as always I am loving my life, family. friends. I am so blessed and truly grateful for everything I have!

Now onto Tipful Thursday.... yesterday I was watching Ellen and she had a home remedy type person on her show. Basically it was things you probably have at home that you can use to stay healthy. The one that jumped out at me was.... Vodka cures ear infections?!?!?! My question is: who is the crazy person that does this first to figure out it works? I personally don't have any vodka in my home but if you do and happen to also have an ear infection... problem solved!

and here are the pictures I promised:

Tipful Thursday

My tip for this week is not a beauty tip, home improvement tip, or cleaning tip. I want to focus on the relationships we all have with our family.

Last night Victoria (the baby sister) and I went to Alexis' (the middle sister) graduation from the public speaking course she has been taking. We got there a few minutes late which resulted in us not sitting near eachother. The instructor had Alexis stand up and introduce her guests and say something nice about us. Alexis said " I love that you are my best friends and you are cute." It made me feel very special and I am sure Victoria did as well. So as it started and I realized it was going to be long and possibly slighty boring I texted Victoria "Why do we have to be such supportive sisters?" she responded "Good question".

After the class was over we went to Bj's for dinner. We talked and laughed and then laughed some more (I thought I was blind. haha) . When I got home I was telling the hubs about our night and how much fun I had. I realized that I am so blessed to have such a strong relationship with my baby sisters. Now I realize most siblings are close but I would bet almost no one has the bond that the three of us have. I know that if I ever need anything I can turn to them and they will do everything in their power to help me, I pray that they feel the same way about me. And that answered my question from above, we are supportive because we love eachother. It wasn't something super important that Alexis did, but it was important to her, which made it important to Victoria and I.

They are more than just my sisters, they are my best frineds, my support system, my favorite childhood memories, my safe place. "As long as I'm living..."

So my tip would be... nurture the relationship you have with your family. Not just your siblings, but your moms, dads, granparents, aunt, uncles, cousins, everyone. These are the people you turn to when your world is upside down or when you just need a good laugh. So call up someone in your family and go hang out together!!!

Tipful Thursday...

So this weekend I went to Town Square with my sister and she took me into Inglot, (it's a cosmetics store) which I have never been to before. They have sooo many fun colors and types of makeup! They are also very reasonably priced!! Earlier that day I did a little makeup session with one of my girlfriends Kayla, we talked about this new gel eyeliner I bought and how I was unsure if I liked it or not yet. Well Lex needed liquid eyeliner (that's why we went to Inglot) the super nice girl working at the store showed us a little tip... and this is what I will be sharing with you! She said she likes to use the gel eyeliner and mix it with Duraline, it basically turns the gel eyeliner into a liquid eyeliner! I was totally amazed! I always liked the way liquid eyeliner went on, but could never find one that stayed dark all day and didn't flake away. Gel eyeliner stay dark all day and don't flake but I have a much harder time getting it to just FLOW across my eyelid. So I bought some Duraline (it was like $9 and will seiously last YEARS) and went home to play. I LOVE it!!!! Not only does it turn a gel eyeliner into liquid, I also turned eyeshadow into a liquid liner!!! So many fun options :)

Tipful Thursday

Ok this weeks tip is..... When painting a mural on your wall use chalk to draw it instead of pencil. Now I am sure pencil works just fine but I prefer chalk. While I was drawing my tree (pictures below) I, along with the help of my SIL, drew the tree on with chalk, this way if you make mistakes and don't like what you have drawn you just wipe it right of with a DRY rag. Then you just paint right over the chalk, your paint brush might get kind of goopy (not sure if that is a real word) just wipe it off and keep going! I am currently painting a design in our bedroom but I am not done yet. When I finish I will be sure to post a picture :)

Tipful Thursday

I wear heels about 5 days a week. I love them!! What I don't love is when they slip off your heel while you walk.

One day while wandering around Target I saw these heel cushions. They are about $5 and WONDERFUL! I have them in every pair of heels I own (which if you ask my husband is way too many pairs) !

So my tip for you is... if you wear heels buy these!!!

Tipful Thursday... on Friday... again.

I wish I had a good excuse as to why I am posting on Friday, but to be honest I was slow at work and wanted to watch Ally McBeal (I'm on episode 79 of 111, I'm almost finished!) I apologize for not putting you all first.

I have one word for you... Norwex. I went to a party my SIL hosted a couple months ago, and honestly I was only going out of support for Carissa. I mean come on "special" microfiber cloths that make cleaning soooo much easier?!?!?! Nah I 'll stick to my "normal" and "cheap" cleaning cloths.... or so I thought!

These things are seriously AMAZING!! You never have to use cleaning products again! Just water.... yep you read that right, water! I clean my entire house (minus the floors) with these cloths and a spray bottle of water! I know what you are thinking.... NO WAY Meagan you are full of it! I'm not I promise, I was once just like you. Doubting the power of the Norwex. Just trust in me, find a party, and go!!!

Tipful Thursday

This weeks tip is Lemi Shine. Let me tell you, living in the desert with this TERRIBLE hard water does awful things to my dishes. I was embarrassed to let people see my dishes. They had this terrible cloudy look to them, I could promise until I was blue in the face that my dishes were clean but they NEVER looked like it! Then I found Lemi Shine. I buy mine at Target in the dish soap aisle, I think it is about $5 for the bottle which usually lasts me about 2 -3 months. Just follow the instructions on the bottle and TA-DA you will have B-E-A-UTIFUL crystal clear dishes :)

Tipful Thursday.... on Friday

So my tip for this week goes along nicely with last weeks! I read online some time ago that while painting, instead of rinsing out your brush and roller in between steps you just wrap the brush/roller in aluminum foil. I thought this sounded to good to be true but let me tell you it totally works! I am currently repainting our bathroom but due to my crazy busy life I can sometimes only paint for a few minutes at a time. So instead of rising my brush everytime I just wrap it in aluminum foil, push out all the air and set it aside until I have time to paint again. Saves so much time and paint :)

Tipful Thursday...

My tip for this week is a REALLY good one :) I have been wanting to paint stripes in my hallway for a while now, but was putting it off because they are such a HUGE pain!! Then I thought to myself..."Self, why don't you post on FB if anyone knows how to do it?" So I did and guess what?!?! Someone did! Well actually two someones.

So here is what you do:

  • Tape off the wall (I suggest the green Frog tape, it is cheaper than the blue painters tape but works much better. In my opinion!)

  • Paint a thin layer of the original wall color on the edge of the tape. This will create a seal so the new color won't leak through.

  • Let that dry completely. Then paint your new color. Let dry completely!!!

  • When you peel the tape off make sure you peel it down (like into the painted stripe). I only had 2 very small places to touch up!

Seriously the easiest thing I have ever done! Too bad I didn't know this little trick when I painted my laundry room! I will post pictures as soon as I get everything back up on my wall :)

Thanks for stopping by! Much love :)
